To save costs on the production end, though, they removed the built-in IPD toggle that’s on the OG Quest. Now you have to adjust the lenses manually before you put on your headset, which is slightly annoying. This also hinders things for people with IPDs lower than 60mm, like me (the lower the IPD, the less distance you have between your eyes).
The FOV, or field of view, isn’t anything to brag about either, sadly. Compared to the HTC Vive, which has a FOV of 110°, the Quest 2’s FOV is waning at 90°. Of course, this is dependent on your IPD. If your face sits naturally closer to the lenses inside the headset, it’ll feel like you have more FOV to work with. If you’re using a padded VR Cover facial interface, it’ll be even smaller.

Now, if you’re like me, you prefer wearing headphones. For me, this amps up the excitement even more. I personally like wearing a pair of over-ear Beats for the noise-canceling capabilities, but earbuds work just as well and may even be more comfortable for you when you’re right in the middle of all that virtual goodness.

VR headset controllers vary, but they’re all hand-held in some fashion. The Oculus Quest 2 looks very similar to the OG Quest, just a bit bigger. Some users have complained that the touch controllers are slightly too big, but most appreciate the change.

The real kicker is that the headset is completely wireless. The now-unsupported Oculus Rift relies on the power of a gaming PC to get things going. Honestly, does anyone really enjoy getting wrapped up in wires? If you do want gaming PC power with your Quest 2, just pick up the Oculus Link Cable, or use Air Link or Virtual Desktop.
