Considering you may have never heard the Sensorama before, I think it’s safe to say that it never truly caught on with anyone. Although 3D movies have been in and out of fashion since the ’50s, VR only came into its own in the mid-2000s. Initially, it was developed for military purposes. And then Google Earth developed its first-person street view.
Despite VR’s origins spanning decades, it would be easy to think that VR adult content is a relatively new invention. But it has been over a decade since Ella Darling became known as the first VR cam girl. She earned that title in 2014, which by no coincidence was the same year that saw the release of Google Cardboard.
