Award shows in the adult industry are nothing new. Xbiz and AVN do them every year. Hundreds of scantily clad porn stars and industry folks flock to an awesome location like Las Vegas or Los Angeles, let the drinks flow and party it up while receiving awards for things like Best All-Girl Scene or Best Actor and Actress and so on. Usually, these awards represent amateur performers in a minimal way.
Everyone knows what Pornhub is. They’re arguably the biggest name in adult entertainment and there’s a 99.9% chance you’ve visited the site to get your spank on. Well, they’re finally getting into the awards game and holding their first annual Pornhub Awards! Needless to say, I was pretty excited when I heard the news.

A Truly Different Awards Show
Several cool things struck me when I began reading about it. First was the fact that unlike other awards ceremonies, the winners are not chosen by a panel of judges who call all the shots. Instead, Pornhub is essentially leaving it in the hands of fans, selecting winners based on who received the most attention and using different data-collection techniques (which I won’t even begin to attempt to figure out).
The other cool thing is that the entire ceremony is going to be streamed in VR! Yup, that’s right, if you have a headset, you can sit among all the porn stars and amateur babes and literally get a front-row seat to the action.

The nominees range from porn stars like Riley Reid and Lauren Phillips to amateur performers like Little Oral Andie and Teacher_Of_Magic. Some of the awards being given away are Top Lesbian Performer, Top BlowJob Performer and Top Big Tits Performer. But the one I’m mostly looking forward to is Top VR Performer!

I do have to mention one thing. How exactly do you create a Top VR Performer category and not include Riley Reid, who is arguably the biggest virtual porn star right now? Was it to make it fair for the others? Because, quite frankly, if she were in this category, she’d win. Regardless I have to say they’ve certainly selected some real hotties. I can’t even begin to make an educated guess on who will take this award home.
Create Your Avatar and Meet Pornstars
Though details on this are still a bit scarce, it seems like you’ll be able to stream the show through the virtual reality game Red Light Center. From what I can gather, you sign up, create an avatar and then you’ll be able to mingle with other users and, as Pornhub states, industry stars.
